Who Will be Taking Care of my Kids?

Volunteer Adult Chaperones will be supervising your kids while they are at camp. These adults will be from the church your child is registered with, giving you the opportunity to form a relationship with them before camp. Also, the directing staff will be very involved with creating and running safe, fun activities for your kids. We love getting to know them personally while they are at camp.

What Will My Kids be Taught

The camp runs under the First Baptist Church of Patterson, and our teachings follow a belief in the truth of the Bible as the inspired word of God.

Here's what we teach and believe

Can I contact my child while he/she is at camp?

Contact information for the camp will be included in each of your parent info packs. The phone number is for emergencies only. Calls, from home can tend to make younger kids homesick. Feel free to write your kids a letter or postcard - we do mail call every day. Just be sure to mail it a day before camp begins, to be sure it gets there on time! Or send it up with your adult chaperone.

Does my child need any additional money for camp?

All camp activities, meals and lodging are included in the price of camp, so students do not need to bring any additional money. However, the venue offers amenities that students might wish to purchase (gift shop items, snacks, coffee bar).

What is an Adult chaperone?

FBC Patterson does not supply counselors to supervise and guide the students who attend camp. Instead, qualified adults from attending churches volunteer to bring students to camp from their church. These "Adult Chaperones" serve as the main adult presence at camp work closely with the camp staff to keep kids safe and on task.

Tasks

-Distribute and collect registration paperwork to the students in their church or city

-Submit paperwork and fees to FBC Patterson

-Bring your kids to camp! At camp, Chaperones attend all camp activities and supervise the students under their care

-Facilitate daily bible study using camp materials or your own ideas

-Be prepared to share the gospel message with your students

-Help the camp staff facilitate games and free time activities.

Qualifications

Adult Chaperone must be mature Christians of good report who are active members of their church. Each Adult Chaperone must be endorsed by their pastor before attending camp. Adult Chaperones must be over 18 years of age.
